Documentary-driven

Real stories, told the way they happened.

I film weddings documentary style: no forced poses, no over-directing, just the people, the energy and the moments that make your day yours. Every collection is built around telling that story well, from a teaser trailer within 72 hours to a finished film you'll watch for decades.

Meet your filmmaker

Hi, I'm Derek.

Originally from Jackson, Mississippi and now based in the DC area, I've filmed weddings across South America, Europe, the Middle East and Israel. My work has been featured in Munaluchi Bride and Black Bride Magazine, and I'm a proud U.S. Air Force veteran.

On your day I blend in, capture real moments as they unfold, and offer direction only when it's needed, so you can stay present while I tell your story.

FAQ

Questions couples ask

What's your filmmaking style?

Documentary-driven and story focused. I capture real moments naturally while creating a film that feels emotional, timeless and true to your relationship.

What's included in your wedding collections?

Every collection includes a teaser trailer and a pre-wedding film that tells more of your story before the day. Documentary edits of the full ceremony and speeches can be added to any collection.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes. I film weddings locally in Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia, and worldwide. Travel pricing depends on the location and is always discussed upfront.

How long does it take to receive our film?

Turnaround is typically 4 to 12 weeks depending on the season and scope. Every film is crafted to feel intentional and personal.

How do we book you?

Reach out through the inquiry form. Once we confirm availability and choose your collection, a signed contract and retainer secure your date.

Do you include a second videographer?

The Documentary collection includes a second videographer. I usually film solo, but I add a second shooter for multiple locations, guest lists over 350 or special requests. One can be added to other collections at $150 per hour.

Do you have commercial insurance?

Yes. I carry a $2M business liability policy through Full Frame Insurance, plus professional liability coverage.

What gear do you use?

I film with Sony Cinema Line cameras, the same class of cameras used on feature films and premium streaming productions, with professional Deity wireless audio for clean vows and speeches.
